• SchoolsMobile and Bernie Hollywood Celebrate Diversity and Inclusion with Artistic Gift to Marjory Kinnon School

date posted: Tuesday 13 May 2025

SchoolsMobile is delighted to announce the donation of Diverse-City, a striking sculpture of the character Morph, to Marjory Kinnon School. This powerful piece was created for the Whizz Kids Step Free Art Trail and gifted to Marjory Kinnon through Bernie Hollywood, a passionate advocate for accessibility and inclusivity, further reinforcing our shared mission of empowering young people.

Marjory Kinnon School is one of the UK’s largest special educational needs (SEN) schools, supporting over 300 students aged 4-16.

“We are incredibly grateful for this wonderful and uplifting sculpture that is so aligned with our values,” said Tracy Meredith, Headteacher of Marjory Kinnon School. “Morph has found a happy home in our Sensory Garden, and he was an instant hit with our students. Creativity and expression are important for our children, and this sculpture is a fun and inspiring way to spark their imagination.”

Created by renowned artist Mr. A Singh, the sculpture features the beloved character Morph in a radiant metallic gold finish, adorned with intricate royal blue hand-drawn floral patterns. This bold design serves as a striking visual metaphor for unity—where strength meets creativity, and diversity flourishes.

Just as the sculpture encourages us to recognise our shared humanity, SchoolsMobile remains dedicated to making the online world a safer and better place for children to thrive.

By gifting this sculpture to Marjory Kinnon School, Bernie Hollywood and SchoolsMobile aim to inspire students, staff, and visitors to reflect on the beauty of diversity, the power of inclusive communities, and for Morph to be a beacon of creative opportunities.

Winners | New Age Kurling Competition

Before half-term selected students from Year 3 & 4 represented Marjory Kinnon School at the New Age Kurling Competition held at Bolder Academy School and organised by Sport Impact.

14 teams participated from Hounslow Borough, from both mainstream and SEND schools.  Our students conducted themselves really well and the staff and children had such an amazing day.  MKS won every single game to get through to the final and win the whole competition!  Other schools stayed until the end to watch our students win and collect their medals and trophy.

Winning the competition means MKS will go on to represent the London Borough of Hounslow in New Age Kurling at the London Youth Games next month.

Congratulations to our amazing students - we are so proud of you and we're looking forward to the upcoming London Youth Games and what results they may bring.

Thank you to Yemi and the rest of the team for providing these wonderful opportunities for our children here at MKS.

Morph’s Epic Art Adventure in London was the UK’s first step-free art trail of its kind - to highlight the importance of accessibility and inclusion - hosted by Whizz Kidz, the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users. 150,000 people actively engaged with Morph’s Epic Art Adventure trail, as well as thousands more online over an incredible 9 weeks.

There were 76 Morph sculptures designed and displayed around London.  We are delighted that our very own Morph has arrived at his new home in the Memorial Garden and he is settling in well.

  • Happy Anniversary to the Marjory Kinnon School Choir!

date posted: Tuesday 04 Feb 2025

Happy Anniversary to the Marjory Kinnon School Choir!

We are thrilled to celebrate the first anniversary of the MKS Choir. Over the past year, our pupils’ singing abilities and confidence have grown, and we marked an exciting milestone in December—the choir’s first performances outside of the school!

We kicked off with a special festive performance at REACH Academy, where our young singers had the opportunity to perform alongside the Feltham Community Choir. This was a fantastic experience that showcased the power of music in bringing people together. The festive cheer didn’t stop there! The choir then went on to perform at Sunbury Nursing Homes, where their heartfelt singing delighted the residents. It was touching to see the joy and warmth our pupils brought to the elderly through their song.  To round off the month, the choir took part in a community carols event held at school, bringing a magical close to our Christmas celebrations.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our choir members. Their commitment to attending rehearsals each week and their passion for singing have been truly commendable. A huge thank you to every pupil who has been a part of this journey—your hard work and energy have made the MKS Choir what it is today!

This is just the beginning! We have more exciting performances and events lined up for the year ahead, so stay tuned for what’s to come.

Last week, the Primary School students of Marjory Kinnon School took to the stage to deliver a toe-tapping, hand-clapping Christmas production that left the audience beaming with pride. The show was a testament to the creativity and confidence nurtured at our school.

The Boogie Woogie Nativity celebrated the magic of the holiday season with festive music and dramatic performances. Parents and families were delighted by the students' enthusiasm and talent – and the children were so excited to perform to an audience.  It was a joyful reminder of the vibrant community spirit we have.

At Marjory Kinnon we believe in the power of music & drama to build confidence and encourage creativity. Events like this are a wonderful opportunity for all children, regardless of ability, to explore their talents and create cherished memories for them and their families.  A big thank you goes out to the dedicated staff, supportive parents, and, of course, our incredible students who made the production such a success. We can’t wait to see what creative endeavours the new year will bring!

Happy Holidays from everyone at Marjory Kinnon School.

date posted: Monday 15 Jul 2024

We are thrilled to share the exciting experiences of our Year 11 students, who took part in an engaging careers workshop hosted by construction company Kier. This one-day session was designed to inspire young people to explore diverse career opportunities in the construction industry.

During the workshop, students participated in hands-on activities that introduced them to engineering and building techniques. They worked collaboratively on challenges that tested their problem-solving and creativity while gaining insights into the variety of roles within the construction sector. The session also included a Q&A with Kier’s industry professionals, giving students a chance to learn about different career pathways and the skills required to succeed.

Assistant Headteacher, Mr. Jake Gowers, shared his enthusiasm about the event,  “The workshop was an invaluable opportunity for our students to engage with real-world professionals and explore potential future careers. The practical activities sparked their curiosity, and we’re excited for the upcoming six-week Kierriculum programme that we have planned to take this experience further.”

This extended programme will provide students with even more in-depth learning experiences, including visits to live construction sites.

We are proud of how our students embraced this opportunity, and we look forward to seeing their skills and interests grow as they continue to explore their future career options.
