On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to the Marjory Kinnon School website. We are an all-age (Reception – Year 11) SEND school in the London Borough of Hounslow located close to Heathrow Airport.
I am very proud to be able to share with you the recent wonderful opportunities and developments at Marjory Kinnon School. The school has undergone a transition to a new school building in March 2018, purpose built to meet the needs of our SEND pupils. This has helped to create new, exciting and innovative spaces to maximise learning potential and meet sensory needs for all our pupils. The school is upscaling in pupil numbers gradually over the next 3 years.
As Headteacher I aim to ensure that the children are at the heart of every decision we make and that the learning opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and in the future.
Our curriculum aims to challenge our most able pupils academically and provide the life skills that will allow them to become independent members of the community. We also focus heavily on developing social skills that enhance the pupil’s opportunities to integrate and be included in the workplace when they leave us.
The vision and values that underpin our school can be found on the website but in everything we do with our pupils all our staff strive to achieve our mission to: Nurture, Challenge and Inspire!
I have worked at the school for 17 years as a class teacher, Assistant Head, Deputy Head and now Headteacher and I am fully committed to developing and enriching the experiences of the pupils in this wonderful purpose built new building.
Finally, I hope that this website will give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities. The website will grow over time as we add more information, but can never replace the first-hand experience of coming to visit us. You will always receive a warm welcome at Marjory Kinnon from the staff, governors and pupils.
