Sallyanne Houlton, who has been a valued member of our Governing Body at Marjory Kinnon School (since joining as a Local Authority Governor in January 2012), stepped down from her role as Chair of Governors in Autumn 2017. In spite of an increasingly busy schedule, Sallyanne offered to stay on in a Governor role to support the School during the transition to the new school building and therefore the Spring meeting was her last Full Governing Body Committee.
Sallyanne represented the school on the Full Governing Body, the Strategic Planning & Resources Committee and the Teaching & Learning Committee. Her contribution to the Governing Body assisted two Headteachers - Ms Morton and Ms Meredith - in continuing to improve the high standards of education at the school. Her support, encouragement and good advice played an immense part in the development and success of MKS.
Sallyanne has been a regular visitor for school events and we are pleased that, despite her busy workload, she will stay in touch and will continue to visit us in the future. At her final Governing Body meeting, the Governors took the opportunity to thank Sallyanne for all that she had done for Marjory Kinnon School. Her contribution will be missed by the School and the Governors.
