WELCOME TO EARLY YEARS

Starting school is a big step—for both children and their families—and at Marjory Kinnon School, our Early Years team is here to make that transition as smooth, positive, and nurturing as possible.

Our Reception provision offers a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can take their first steps into education with confidence. We understand that every child is unique, and we take great care to tailor learning experiences to meet their individual needs and interests.

With small class sizes and high levels of adult support, we build strong, trusting relationships and provide the personalised attention each child needs to feel secure and ready to learn. Our adapted Early Years' curriculum focusses on developing communication, play, social interaction, and early learning skills through engaging, hands-on activities.

Each child starts school with a unique set of experiences, gained from home, nursery and in their communities. These experiences are valuable and enable us to identify next steps in each child’s individual learning journey. As parents, you are the children’s first educators and as such have unique knowledge and understanding of the children’s learning and development. Together, we lay the foundations for a lifelong love of learning and help your child build the skills they need for the next stage of their school journey.
